A Modern Wine Tasting Experience
Conveniently located on the famous Riddoch Highway our Coonawarra cellar door is nestled among the vineyards. The cellar door features a stunning outdoor space and large share table for guests to enjoy our wine tasting or wines by the glass in a relaxed and modern environment.
All of our wines are grown and made from our 80 hectare vineyard, which is across the famed Coonawarra Terra Rossa Soil. A tasting through our range is a journey across the estate which each wine capturing something of the essence of Whistle Post and the journey from 'grower to glass'.
Barrel Hall & Event Space
The newest addition to Whistle Post Estate is the Barrel Hall & Event space. This is positioned next to the Cellar Door and is perfect for weddings, private tastings and events. Featuring a large hall lined with wine barrels, and an upcoming boardroom and outdoor balcony development with views across the vineyard.
Private Events
The Cellar Door is available for venue hire for weddings and events and private wine tasting within the Barrel Hall can be organised. Whistle Post Estate is the perfect location for end of year work functions, Birthday's, Hen's Parties and and group tours.

Group Bookings
Group bookings are held either within the cellar door or the barrel hall. We accommodate for all occasions including, Birthday's, Hen's Parties and end of year events. Call ahead to let us know your requirements.
Getting to the Cellar Door
The Coonawarra Wine Region is located on the Limestone Coast of South Australia. A scenic 4 hour drive from Adelaide or 4.5 hours drive from Melbourne. Alternatively there are daily flights to the Mount Gambier Airport, a short 30minute drive.
Whistle Post Cellar Door is within walking distance from the Penola town centre where most of the regions accommodation is situated. There are local tour companies available for wine tours and shuttle bus services.
